True Stories

from the 2008 NACC

God has allowed me to attend many conferences of many Christian organizations and denominations, but the NACC is like coming home. The people that come with me are continually amazed that a group of people with no agenda other than to hear God’s word and fellowship, come in such numbers to this event.

Felix Mathew, Streamwood, IL

As a younger man and minister, the NACC is a great time to see friends and colleagues. But, what continues to appeal to me is both the comfort and challenge I receive to keep me going and to sharpen my life. Thank you, North American.

I grew up at the NACC and have many great memories and friends because of the NACC. It feels like I’m coming home . . .

John & Jean Bell, Bargersville, IN

My husband and I were reluctant to come: short notice, money, children, etc. Couldn’t figure out WHY God wanted us to come, destroying ANY excuse we had. Well, we know now – to transform and look at our ministry from a different perspective! We want to live dangerously.

George & Ira Taylor, Richmond, IN

I ran into a preacher who baptized me 42 years ago! What a precious surprise.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Ministers’ Wives’ Tea. It was such an uplifting time for me to simply relax and enjoy. The women’s conference was excellent. Thank you for thinking of us.

This year’s convention has been one of the most motivating, encouraging and inspiring events in my life and 30 years of ministry.

Thank you so much for encouraging those who are young in the ministry! Let’s keep the NACC going. We will be advertising at our church for next year.

One often questions the cost of attending. When we added airfare to the cost, it was very expensive. This was the first time my wife could attend. After two main sessions, she leaned over and said, "I understand now why you said it was worth it to come."

The speakers were awesome and I really liked the theme, "Living Dangerously". The Savannah Christian Church music was superb! They sang "My Jesus, I Love Thee", which is my love song to Jesus and I won’t ever forget it.

Our daughter, who will be a year old on July 6th, got to experience her first NACC. She had a great time with the other children and the awesome volunteers who took the time to know her by name, hold her and play with her. Hopefully this is the start of a great family tradition.

Bryan & Kimberly Morrow, Joplin, MO

Some day I hope to be a preacher. Most of my incentive comes from the association and contacts that I have made over the years at the NACC.

By Thursday morning we had already seen 87 people we’ve known from past ministries – the NACC truly is a connecting place.

Lester LeMay, Tempe, AZ

The NACC created an environment for real ministers to share real life with one another, refreshing one another to return to real ministry.
