Mountain Christian Church
Ben has served since 1997 as the Lead Pastor at Mountain Christian Church outside of Baltimore, Maryland. A graduate of Minnesota Bible College (Crossroads College) and Emmanuel Christian Seminary, he has also served churches in Minnesota and Tennessee.
Ben serves as a Trustee with Emmanuel Christian Seminary, as past President for the North American Christian, and as a Contributing Editor for Christian Standard. Ben follows in the footsteps of his grandparents and parents who spent their lives in ministry among the Christian churches, mostly in the state of Minnesota.
With its beginnings in 1824, the story of the Mountain Church is remarkable. Located in the Northeast U.S., which is a vital mission field with a high concentration of unchurched people, God is using Mountain to make a regional impact with amazing fruit and growth to celebrate, and a huge vision to fulfill. Mountain’s mission is to make disciples who love God, love people, and serve the world. Most of Mountain’s ministry happens in the community as the people of God scatter on mission. A multi-site church that gathers in three locations, Mountain’s newest campus is also a community center for ministry outreach, with a focus on changing the trajectory of the lives of under-resourced children through incarnational love.
Ben and his wife Karla, have three children, Nathan, Andrew, and Ellie. He loves tennis, rock climbing, and water skiing. Most of all, he loves his family, has a passion for preaching and leadership, and longs to see the Church live the good news of Jesus in compelling ways so that people may find the love of Christ.
